- Sanding after removing layers of dead skin on local areas.
- Sanding after callus removal.
What is the difference between white and black replacement files:
- The abrasive of white files consists of aluminum oxide, which makes them more pliable, soft, and wear-resistant. Black files consist of silicon carbide, which makes them harder but more brittle.
- White files have fine abrasive grains of round shape, which prevents injury to the nail plate. Black files have sharp abrasive that self-sharpens during filing.
- White replacement files have a stearate coating that prevents clogging of the coating with organic dust; black files have no coating.
- White files handle dry nail filing better; black files work well with wet nail filing.
- White file color is more hygienic than black during work; streaks or grooves after filing are not visible on the file, and light abrasive particles are not noticeable when they fall on artificial material during nail extension.
