How to navigate the STALEKS catalog
STALEKS is a tool brand, so the choice is made not by shade and volume, but by tool type, working part size and model number. About half of the catalog consists of consumables for an already purchased base, and that's where mistakes are most common.
The article number is read as an address
The code in the card is built according to one rule. The first letter is the type: S — scissors, N — nippers, P — spatulas and pushers, T — tweezers, F — bits. The second is the line: C — CLASSIC, S — SMART, E — EXPERT, X — EXCLUSIVE, Q — UNIQ, P — PODO. Then the model number, and at the end either millimeters or TYPE. Scissors “Ballerina” UNIQ 10 TYPE 3 have the article SQ-10/3, skin nippers EXPERT 90 with working part 7 mm — NE-90-7. Having figured it out once, you make a repeat purchase by code and do not compare photos.
The line does not indicate purpose
CLASSIC, SMART, EXPERT, EXCLUSIVE, UNIQ, BEAUTY & CARE and PODO run through all sections: the same names are in scissors, spatulas, tweezers. What is actually visible from the name: EXCLUSIVE comes with Magnolia finish, UNIQ in spatulas means silicone handle “Gummy” or Combo series, nail clippers exist only in BEAUTY & CARE, and PRO EXPERT appears in tweezers for brows and lashes. PODO is also just a series marking: 41 items with it are scattered across several sections and are not an indication of use.
Files and bases: the number must match
This is the most common mistake in orders. Bases with replaceable abrasives are divided by number — EXPERT 20 and shorter EXPERT 20s, EXPERT 22, EXPERT 40 (“half-moon”), EXPERT 50, and next to them live SMART 20 and 22 and EXCLUSIVE 20 and 22. Files are labeled the same, and EXPERT 20 with EXPERT 22 are not interchangeable, even though they look almost identical. The second fork is the attachment: papmAm ones hold without glue, adhesive ones have an adhesive layer, and these are different consumables. Then finer details: grit 100, 150, 180 or 240, white or black abrasive, packaging 10/25/30/50 pieces, separately — file tape in a coil.
A small detail that costs time: the word papmAm is written in the catalog in three ways — papmAm, abbreviated papAm and papmАm with a Cyrillic “А”. Searching by one spelling will not show all sets, so it’s safer to open the section of bases and scan with your eyes.
PODODISC: first diameter, then grit
In pedicure discs, the size is encoded in the letter: S — Ø15 mm, M — Ø20 mm, L — Ø25 mm. The disc is sold immediately with five files of 180 grit, then you buy sets of 50 pieces with grit 80, 100, 180, 240 or 320 — necessarily of the same diameter. Files come in two versions, regular and on a soft base; for “umbrella” discs there are separate ring files, and for polishing — sponge buffers.
Combo pushers and left-handed tools
In the spatula section, the mark TYPE means a specific pair of working ends — “rounded pusher + hatchet”, “curette + pusher” — so two spatulas with the same number and different TYPE are different tools. Separately stands the Combo UNIQ series: the handle is bought once, and the working parts (ring, hatchet, straight and bent blade, curette, pick) are separate cards. Here hides a pitfall with left-handedness. Combo UNIQ 31 is marked “left bend”, but in parentheses the manufacturer clarifies for right-handed; the left-handed one is UNIQ 32 with right bend. The rest of the left-handed tools are marked directly in the name in capital letters: scissors “FOR LEFT-HANDED” EXPERT 11 with blades 18, 21 and 23 mm, EXPERT 13 with a hook, and spatula EXPERT 30 TYPE 4.3.
Next the catalog unfolds itself: diamond and carbide bits (shape, notch color, diameter 1–6 mm), ready files and buffers, skin nippers with working part from 3 to 14 mm, scissors, nippers and clippers for nails, tweezers, brushes, dust brushes, orange sticks and spatulas, disinfection with trays and special liquids.
