Carbide burs for manicure and pedicure are made from hard alloys containing tungsten and other elements. Diamond grinding is used to form and sharpen the cutting edge. Such manicure burs are durable, efficient, and heat up much less during operation.
Unlike other attachments, carbide burs cut the material, forming chips rather than dust. TCB burs are most often used to remove the upper keratinized layer of heels and calluses. These burs are also ideal for reducing the thickness of gel and acrylic during correction or removal of artificial nails.
